All bookings must be accompanied by the appropriate deposit, the balance of which is due, in the
case of Norfolk based holidays, 4 weeks prior to your arrival and, for trips abroad, 10 weeks before departure. All
payments must be in pounds sterling. A non-refundable deposit must accompany all booking forms. Cheques should be made
payable to 'Focus on Birds Trust Fund,' except in the case of air tickets, which are directly payable to 'Naturetrek'.
Upon acceptance of your booking form and deposit, we shall send you written confirmation, at which time a contract
shall be deemed to be in existence between us.
We reserve the right to modify the holiday or to substitute accommodation if necessary. However, we will always
try to ensure that this does not affect the quality of your holiday.
Flights
All air tickets are booked through Naturetrek and covered by their ATOL number 2962 for your
security. Upon payment of your tickets, you will receive an ATOL receipt. You will be invoiced separately for all
ground costs, which form a separate contract with us, to be paid directly to 'Focus on Birds Trust Fund.'
Cancellation by us
We reserve the right to cancel at our discretion any tour that has insufficient bookings,
in the event of which an alternative holiday may be offered. Anyone declining the new offer will naturally
be refunded in full. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel, you will be informed in writing not less than
40 days before the departure date.
Cancellation by you
Should you need to cancel your holiday for whatever reason, we can only accept notice in
writing and this will only be effective from the day we receive it. The following charges will apply in all
cases: More than 70 days - deposit only; 28 to 70 days - 50% of total cost; 27 days and under - 100% of cost.
We therefore strongly recommend you take out travel insurance when you book your holiday.
Delays
We are unable to accept any responsibility for extra costs incurred as a result of delays by
ferries, airlines, strikes, or any other causes beyond our control.
Passport, Visa and Health Requirements
All clients are responsible for and must be in possession of a valid passport, which is not
due for renewal for at least six months following the conclusion of their holiday. Should you need to renew your
passport, please allow a minimum of six weeks. Visas and vaccinations are also the responsibility of each client.
In all cases, clients will be advised if any of these are required well in advance of their holiday. We can only
offer guidance; where appropriate, medical advice should be sought.
Insurance
Since travel insurance is a legal requirement, we will need a copy of your insurance prior
to any trips abroad. Focus on Birds cannot be held responsible for any theft, loss or damage of any personal
effects whatsoever; the same applies to any personal injury, illness or accident.
Accommodation
We endeavour wherever possible to use accommodation of a standard that we personally feel
is adequate in the circumstances. Rooms are usually en-suite but this depends on the location. Hotels generally
charge a single room supplement. We regret that this cost must to be passed on to the client. In some situations
single rooms may not be available; thus, we ask you to seriously consider the possibility of sharing.
Financial Security
In compliance with EC Directive (90/314EEC) Focus on Birds operates entirely through a
totally independent trust fund. This ensures that, should we become insolvent prior to or during your
holiday, all monies paid to us by you are held in trust until such time as Focus on Birds has fulfilled
its full and legal obligation to you, the client, in connection with our mutual contract. (excepting air tickets)
