Norfolk road and rail routes

North Norfolk is easily accessible from the South East, Midlands and North, with London and Leicester approximately two and half hours away by car. There is a good train service to Kings Lynn and Norwich from where bus or taxi services will get you to Wells (the adventurous can get all the way to Sheringham or even Holt by rail from Norwich but it is not a convenient journey).

Wells Town Map

When arriving in Wells from Fakenham, turn right at the Town sign at the top of the hill and then immediately left onto Park Road. When this road turns sharply right, turn left into Bases Lane to find the entrance to Ilex House is on your right. If you're coming along the coast road from the West (Hunstanton), stay on the A149 round the back of the town and turn left at the town sign. If you're coming from the East (Cromer or Sheringham), follow the A149 round the back of the town and turn right at the Town Sign.

If you'd like an extended holiday in and around Wells, please ask... we generally have accommodation available at Ilex House before or after your birding break.
