Welcome to 'Focus on Birds' 2010.
Birds have fascinated and delighted me
since childhood and I count myself lucky
to have been able to make them my career
since 1986, when I decided to give up the
day job and make my living as a wildlife
tour leader.
I set up Focus on Birds initially to teach
people about the birds of Britain, especially
those to be found along the North Norfolk
coast. Gradually my programme has
expanded, as you will see on this website,
to include birding and wildlife holidays to
Europe and North America.
My priority has always been to build upon what people already know,
and if you are a beginner then I consider myself to be very lucky to
introduce you to the pleasures that birding can bring. If you are already
a knowledgeable birder, then we can enjoy discussing and sharing our
passion. Hopefully I will be able to help you with the finer points of the
trickier families, i.e. Gulls, Waders and Warblers.
I delight in all that the natural world has to offer, so we take time to look
at and photograph insects, plants and mammals, as well as the birds we
come across. Focus on Birds holidays are not for people who simply want
to tick species on a list and move on.
I hope you will enjoy browsing through this website - all of the photos you can
see here are from Focus on Birds breaks and trips so while we can't guarantee the same weather, birds
or wildlife, you can see what we get up to. If you would like to know more about any
of our holidays, don't be too shy to get in touch.
